Galoppierende Zuversicht (roughly translated
as "galloping confidence") is the collaborative
project of Bang Goes and Styro2000 from the Swiss label Bruchstuecke.
Their recorded output is somewhat small, but this is only because
they focus so much energy on making their live sets amazing and can't
be bothered to finish many studio tracks. Their live set-up consists
of about a dozen pieces of hardware (some of them self-built), with
no laptops in sight. These guys made a huge splash on their first
visit to North America in the spring of 2005, playing a few select
gigs at tastemaker parties such as Mutek, The Bunker, Wolf + Lamb,
and Kontrol. They returned in 2006 and just played at Wolf + Lamb
(download the recordings to the left to hear how amazing that was).
Now, in 2007, they are returning to North America and want to bring
their sound to as many cities as possible. They are here from August
22 to September 12, with a stop off in Nevada for Burning Man from
August 27 to September 3. They are available to play the live hardware
set and are also formidable DJs.
